"Early War at Mahaffie 2004" Sunday April 18th   Various speakers portrayed pre-Civil War characters with various positions on the turbulent issues of the day.     The opening gunshots fired by a Southern sympathizer sparked a 20 minute fierce battle that ended in defeat for the Southeren cause.   Pro Southern Army Elliotts Scouts made up the bulk of the pro-Southern forces.
